But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him and his righteousness with their children's children . . . Psalm 103:17

THANK YOU!

We have been overwhelmed by all the meals, gifts, prayers, notes, words of encouragement, hugs, and acts of service heaped on us by so very many of you! For those in the area, our church is hosting a baby shower, but please don't feel like you need to bring anything! We want to say thank you to YOU and show you our babies from afar, including some video hopefully. The text of the invitation is below.

Friends, family and intercessors of the Gavin & Carrie Jones family
are invited to a Baby Shower  in honor of
David, Will, Marcie, Seth and Grace Jones
at Faith Bible Church
7:00 pm
Sunday evening, October 14, 2013

Gavin & Carrie will share a bit of their work in Papua New Guinea
and photos of the quintuplets.
Prayer for this family will be part of the program

The babies are doing well tonight, thank God. We are so pleased that Seth is having an easier time of it the last few days and we pray it continues, obviously! He hasn't had the fluid build-up in his lungs that he was having before and he's content on less sedation and still on the lowered settings, maintaining his oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the good zone. He's still requiring quite a bit of supplemental oxygen, though (57-60%), so please pray his lungs will heal so he can be on progressively less oxygen and machine settings, especially considering the oxygen and machine damage his sensitive lung tissue. He's gorgeous on the outside despite the yucky lung scarring on the inside! :)

He loves his new open set-up and swaddling rather than being in the closed incubator!
(He's getting really sleepy now . . . )

Gracie is up to 3 lb 15 oz, so thanks for praying for her continued weight gain!

Love and gratitude over and over again,
Carrie for all

How nice of you to share pics/video of the babies, I'm sure everybody will love seeing those. Blessings and peace to you....love and praise to our Father for mercies shown/given, for Gracie's weight gain and Seth's calmer day/evening...

  2. I swear the babies get cuter every time I see a picture of them. Seth looks so relaxed in that picture. We continue to pray for all the babies and your entire family, especially Seth.

  3. I have been following you since the babies were born and I was so happy to see Seth looking so amazing! I know there is still a long and treacherous road to travel, but it truly has lifted my heart to see him like that.

My daughter was born at 32 weeks after 9 weeks of strict bedrest, 5 in hopsital, and it is AMAZING to see God's work through the hands of these wonderful skilled doctors. She spent 26 days in the NICU and on 6 November will be 2 and a half. People always guess her age as three because she is so tall, robust and talkative. She NEVER stops talking!

Seth is in my daily thoughts, as is Isaac (it makes me joyous to see him doing so well despite the enormous challenges and changes in his life) and I just about die of cute when you post pics of the other 4 babies.

You are doing such a wonderful job. God picked exactly the right parents for these six children. Especially Seth, I think prems are only gifted to the parents God sees as the strongest and most capable, and that sick prems are an extra sign of God's belief in the capabilities of those parents.

Thinking of you every single day.

    Love
Sarah, and Lily as well, my 32 weeker.

  4. Praises to You, Dear Lord, for your continued faithfulness and the love and mercy you have showered upon this beautiful family. We thank you for answers to prayer and again lift up these babes with their specific needs; please bless them with strength, growth, fewer issues, and decreased settings. You are the Almighty, holy and more than able and we are humbled by the love you have for each of us. Amen. NKL

  5. I have been following your blog since a friend of mine in Cairns shared your blog, amazing on how things are going with your five little miracles. Praying that all may go well with them, love to help you out but yes not really next door. Hope that all goes well as they gain more weight and get ready to go home.
