This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Seth going off vapotherm!

I (Gavin) just got back from delivering milk to Seth.  I couldn't stay and hold him, since we've got sickness in the house and they don't want me or anyone who's been exposed to stick around the hospital.  They were about to reduce him to 1/2 liter airflow and to just a regular cannula instead of the vapotherm (the main difference with vapotherm is that it is heated air).  Also, they are going to try to start him on bottle feeding!  We've been wondering what kind of breathing and eating support Seth may need when he comes home.  We don't know, but we really pray that he will learn quickly to bottle feed so he doesn't need a tube put in his stomach for feeds.  The fewer tubes that we have to deal with, the better.  That's our point of view, at least.  We'll see what God's is. :)

  7. For your mercies, Oh God, we thank you. We praise Your Name for the miracles we have all experienced in the birth and development of Will, David, Seth, Marcie, and Gracie. Keep us mindful of Your Faithfulness. We pray Your continued blessings on Isaac and Seth as they need healing. We ask for Your protection for the rest of the family. We pray also for strength and patience for Gavin and Carrie, and the caregivers who minister daily and nightly to the babies. We treasure the joy of having this family in our lives! In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
