This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Two steps back for Seth

Poor Seth got the other babies' cold. I'm pretty sure I brought it to Children's from home - I should have just stayed away! It's so hard not to see him, though! He's doing fine, thank God, but did have to go two steps back with breathing support: back onto CPAP, and back up to a setting of 5 vs. 4. His chest x-ray and blood gases looked good, though, so we certainly thank God this isn't a devastating lung infection, just a simple cold. He sneezes and coughs and has a runny nose and needs a bit more tracheal suctioning (which CANNOT be fun for him!), but he was fat and happy yesterday when I visited. He was 10 lb 4.4 oz! Wow!

Here are some cute pictures:

I think this is the day, if not the moment, in which I infected him. :(

Look at those trusting eyes!

  1. Oh Dear....sorry to hear Seth has everyone's cold. But, it just makes his little immune system tougher! Prayers continue for him for sure...

  3. I was thinking the same thing. A healthy baby needs to build up some antibodies. Will pray that his whole body will help his lungs to fight off the virus. Seth is well-covered with prayer......cp
