This is the blog for Gavin and Carrie Jones and family. We live in Papua New Guinea and are working to see lives transformed by the living Word of God through Bible translation. Gavin is a helicopter pilot. Carrie, who has her degree in Public Health, works in the lab at our busy rural clinic. Our son, Isaac, was born in 2004 and our quintuplets, Will, David, Marcie, Seth, and Grace, were born in 2012.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. The you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:3-6

Work permit update

For those of you who were a bit concerned about my last post regarding work permits, it was an April Fools joke that I intended to be believable from the text but a complete joke once you saw the pictures and captions. The children DO NOT need work permits!  That was a joke. That being said, there may be some truth as to the professions that I came up with:

  •  Will has an extremely loud, projecting voice akin to an opera singer (one with no training or tone, that is).
  • David does quite like being comfortable.
  • Marcie really loves sampling the various selections of dirt throughout the yard.
  • Seth really likes to eat and often out-eats his other siblings, including big Will.
  • Grace often has food all over her face and makes patterns with her food on the table that might be the buds of artistic talent.

On a completely truthful note, we are very excited to share that Carrie's work permit has been approved in Papua New Guinea!  The next step is for our co-workers in PNG to send in our family's visa applications to the PNG Embassy and for me to send our passports and applications in to the Stateside embassy. That should all happen this coming week, which should leave us plenty of time to get them approved and into our hands.   Thank you for your prayers that these steps will all go smoothly!

Carrie is working on another post that has new pictures, so I won't add any to this one.
